Australia has lived as much as its nickname, the “Fortunate Nation,” partly because of ample reserves of coal and pure fuel. A fossil-fuel-free future—just like the one envisioned on the COP28 local weather summit in Dubai on Wednesday—would subsequently pose a major problem to its development mannequin.
Unsurprisingly, some essential power shares listed in Australia took a success yesterday: Shares of Yancoal Australia and Whitehaven Coal had been each down round 2%.
