Bowling in Worry? Gun Violence and Civil Society

The difficulty of weapons in America is usually mentioned as important to freedom in a liberal society. On the one aspect of the difficulty, the liberty pertains to the 2nd Modification proper to bear arms in opposition to a tyrannical sovereign. On the opposite aspect of the talk, the priority is banning or limiting gun rights to make sure freedom from concern and violence. Part of the dialog being missed by all is the function of gun violence within the erosion of civil society, one other important part of freedom in a liberal society.
