DENVER — Denver Public Colleges is eliminating 38 positions inside its central workplace as a part of a restructuring plan.
In an announcement Friday, DPS Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero mentioned the modifications are needed “to make sure our district’s long-term stability and success,” citing declining enrollment and considerations for future funding from each the state and nationwide ranges.

In complete, 38 positions shall be eradicated, efficient July 1. Marrero estimates the eliminations will save the district $5 million yearly, starting within the 2025-2026 college yr.
Workers whose positions have been eradicated will obtain a severance bundle primarily based on their years of service in DPS, in response to the superintendent. They’re additionally eligible to use for present vacancies throughout the district.
