DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — The Douglas County College District is the most recent district grappling with decrease enrollment. Officers mentioned early planning is underway to shut and consolidate a few of its elementary colleges within the 2026-27 faculty 12 months.
College officers cite decrease start charges as a contributing issue, noting younger households are selecting totally different areas to dwell in Douglas County and a few faculty areas are now not ultimate.
In line with officers, 16 Highlands Ranch elementary colleges are at present being studied. Of these, both six colleges shall be paired into three colleges or 4 colleges shall be consolidated into two colleges.
