KEYSTONE, Colo. —The Keystone Ski Patrol Union formally accepted a contract Saturday evening after reaching a tentative settlement with the resort final week.
The union has been pushing for greater wages for its members since organizing in September of final 12 months.
“Ski patrolling is a extremely specialised job that’s usually misunderstood. At Keystone, we’re not simply first responders; we’re a full-fledged EMS service liable for medical calls, avalanche mitigation, technical rescues, and outside emergency care,” the union wrote in a December 2024 Instagram put up.
The beginning wage for ski patrol staff is $21.50 per hour, in line with the Instagram put up.
The brand new contract will increase wages, and union officers stated in a press release to CPR final week that it resulted “in wages being elevated throughout the business in union and non union retailers alike.”
