DENVER (KDVR) — A motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Fort Collins on Thursday.
Fort Collins Police Companies stated officers had been known as to a crash at 5:31 p.m. within the 6000 block of South Shields Road close to the Cathy Fromme Prairie Pure Space.
When officers arrived on the scene, they stated a number of autos had been concerned. In response to investigators, a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was driving northbound on South Shields Road when a 2011 Harley Davidson bike reportedly crashed into the rear portion of the Jeep.
Police stated the bike went into the southbound lanes the place it was struck by a 2005 Toyota Prius. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and hit by a separate automotive going southbound, Fort Collins police stated.
The motorcyclist was pronounced useless on scene.
All drivers concerned within the crash remained on scene and cooperated with police, the division stated.
Right now, police stated they’re investigating whether or not alcohol or pace was a contributing issue.
“Our CRASH Staff is working diligently to analyze the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and supply solutions to these affected. Any lack of life is devasting, and our ideas are with those that had been concerned tonight,” stated Sgt. David Lindsay who oversees the Fort Collins Police CRASH Staff.
Fort Collins police stated South Shields Road was closed in each instructions between Trilby Street and Scenic Drive for about seven hours.
